Fashion Follows Interiors: A "Mad Men" Event

Eleven selected Designers will create a Mad Men inspired garment for début from interior design materials in participation with Fashion Focus Chicago's 8th Annual.

This much anticipated event of 400+ will be raising awarded monies and student scholarships for the  NEWH (National Education Hospitality Design Industry) through a deconstructed runway contest between 11 participates using Interior Design products from our great Chicago Merchandise Mart to create a 1960's inspired garment. These garments will be debuted the night of the event while you enjoy cocktails, h'orderves and the sounds of Elisa Hunt (songs of Ella Fitzgerald) and a guest DJ with elegant 60's interpretation at the historic Blackstone Hotel ballroom and gallery.

The attire and overall tone is chic, cocktail-retro as we'll have photographers roaming the party after a "red carpet" entrance and nothing less than a vintage car and Hollywood flavor line-up at the entrance steps.

As a Senior Interior Designer and Manager of Hospitality projects for over ten years, Christy Collins of Collins Designs & Co. look to many outlets of inspiration, but has always said: "Interiors' follow fashion", and for one night only they plan on reversing that in an effort to support and inspire the Fashion Industry during Chicago Fashion Focus week.

Diary of Events:

6:00 - "Rolling out the red carpet", welcome cocktails!

6:00-11:00 - Live performances by Elisa Hunt, guest DJ Nikki, sip and aperitif, Silent Auction, Contestant Garment Auction, Christian Dior draw, Blogger's lounge by Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams, photo booth, Guest "Mad Man" and Host. Specialty drinks and dessert features.

8:00 - Designer Debut, Model Presentation begins

9:00 - Special performance presented by Untitled -  Time to kick up our heels!

10:00-11:00 - Designer Award Overture, Silent Auction Closes, Event bags.
